Wulian Stone:

Wulian stone is a high-end architectural decoration material. The most common varieties in the market are Wulian Red and Wulian Flower, with the latter boasting massive reserves and leading national production. The primary processed products include Wulian Flower Flamed Slabs and Wulian Flower Road Curbs, which are exported worldwide as finished or semi-finished stone products.

Hometown of Granite Jietou Town, comprising 78 administrative villages with 18,433 households and a population of 56,000, spans 238 km². Renowned as "a powerhouse for stone processing and machinery manufacturing in the Shandong Peninsula urban cluster", it has been consecutively awarded "Advanced Township in Regional Economy" by Rizhao City for five years. Recognized as "Shandong's Central Town" and "Provincial Civilized Town", Jietou was named "Shandong's Characteristic Industry Town" in November 2007 and "China's Hometown of Granite" by the China Stone Material Association in November 2009. As the largest stone industry base in northern China, Jietou Town processes and exports stone products globally.Equipped with advanced multi-blade gang saws, infrared cutting machines, automatic polishers, edge grinders, CNC profiling machines, and column/ball carving systems, Wulian's stone industry has achieved rapid growth. It now integrates quarrying, design, processing, installation, technical consulting, and after-sales service, producing slabs, tombstones, curbstones, step stones, mushroom stones, and granite signage stones. Annual output reaches 60 million m² of granite slabs. After market consolidation, over 100 stone factories remain operational from the original 600.

Stone Raw Materials

Mineral Resources:

Wulian County abounds in mineral resources, with 28 proven types, including copper, gold, granite, and bentonite. Granite reserves alone exceed 5 billion m³, primarily distributed in Jietou and Hongning Towns. Jietou hosts 216 granite quarries, producing 600,000 m³ of raw blocks annually. The sector employs 35,000 workers across 12 large-scale enterprises operating 3,000+ processing units, with an annual output of 30 million m² of slabs. In 2008, the industry generated ¥3 billion in revenue and ¥600 million in taxes.
Notably, northern China's largest Colorful Stone (Qicai Stone) quarry is located in Wulian's Nuozhuang Village. Key Stone Varieties: Wulian Red, Wulian Flower, Wulian Gray, Colorful Stone (Qicai Stone), Wulian Green, Maifan Stone, Shidao Red, Rust Stone, Hammered Flower, General Red. Main Processed Products: Signage stones, flamed slabs, road curbs. Signage stones are extra-large specialty processed for gates or screens, serving as landscape features and artistic. Uneven heat expansion produces an anti-slip,-like texture.

Production Process:

Cut raw granite into slabs. Initial grinding → Flame treatment (800–1,000°C) using a (20–40 mm distance, 120–250 mm/s speed). Pre-spray water prevents cracking; removes 0.5–1 mm surface layer. Result: Natural, rustic appearance ideal for sidewalks, roads, and interior/exterior walls. Road Curb Stones Function: Demarcates roads, sidewalks, and green belts to ensure traffic safety and edge neatness. Classifications: Material: Concrete vs. Stone curbs. Profile: H-type, T-type, R-type, F-type, TF vertical, P flat. Alignment: Straight or curved (compatible with flamed slabs).
